A downloadable game for Windows

and they want to kill me.

An endless runner about a grave robber.

Controls:

[W] to go up

[S] to go down

Version 2 Gameplay:

You are a grave robber. The game switches between day and night every 3 seconds.  During the day, gravestones will appear, and it is your job to dig them up. Colliding with gravestones will give you points. During the night, gravestones will be replaced with hostile souls, angered by your disruption (they are represented as skulls). Colliding with them will incinerate you. Avoid the angered souls by switching lanes, and rob as many graves as possible.

Original Gameplay:

The game switches between the living and the dead every 3 seconds.  The living will give you points when you collide with them. Whereas the dead will incinerate you when touched. Avoid the dead by switching lanes and try to score as many points as possible.

Game Jam Development:

This game was made in Gamemaker in 2 hours and 27 minutes. All the art was made by me using Aseprite. This is my first Tri Jam game, and I was the only person involved in the development.

The theming of the game came from the Halloween season, I wanted to do something with ghosts, and this is what I ended up with.  I was originally planning on using translucent blue ghosts, but then I realized that red would be clearly to the player as a threat. The game also ended up making it's own risk/reward system, by trying to get more points you risk being killed by the flaming skulls after the switch.

The music in the game was originally intended to signal when the switch would happen, but I didn't want to redo the music. The idea was that when you see the living the music would be calm, and when you see the dead, rock music would play.

Sadly I cannot export the game to any platform other than windows.
